ABOUT LETHBRIDGE

Surrounding the Old Man River, Lethbridge was founded around the coal mining industry in the late 1800`s. Then called Fort Whoop-up, Lethbridge grew as a result of the successful coal mining industry and in 1904 Lethbridge was established as a City. The increase in the population brought many changes to Lethbridge including the demand to have rail line access to the coal mines which resulted in the building of the High Level Bridge; the High level bridge is the longest, tallest trestle bridge in the world. The growth in population directly increased the development of the city which today is a growing city of more than 90,000 residents.

Lethbridge is the gateway to both the Rocky Mountains and to the Canadian badlands, and Lethbridge is one of the sunniest cities in Canada which makes it a great location for a baseball tournament!
